Jeconiah (Jehoiachin)
Grandson of Josiah carried captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar — and later released from prison after thirty-seven years to dine at the king's table, keeping the Davidic line alive in exile.
Deported to Babylon in 597 BC at age eighteen (2 Kings 24:8–15), Jeconiah (Jehoiachin) spent thirty-seven years in a Babylonian prison until Evil-merodach released him, exchanged his prison clothes, and gave him a seat above the other captive kings — closing 2 Kings with a spark of Messianic hope (2 Kings 25:27–30; Matthew 1:11–12).
