King Uzziah
Prosperous king of Judah for fifty-two years in the Messianic line — in the year of whose death the prophet Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up on His throne.
Crowned at sixteen, Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah and built Judah's defenses until pride led him to burn incense in the temple (2 Chronicles 26:1–21). In the year King Uzziah died, Isaiah beheld the true King, the LORD of hosts, seated upon the heavenly throne (Isaiah 6:1; Matthew 1:8–9).
