King Asa
Reforming king of Judah who tore down foreign idols, cried out to God against Zerah the Ethiopian's million-man army, and fathered King Jehoshaphat.
Reigning forty-one years in Jerusalem, Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD like his father David, removing the idols and praying, 'O LORD, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak' before defeating Zerah the Ethiopian (1 Kings 15:9–14; 2 Chronicles 14:11; Matthew 1:7–8).
King Asa is cataloged in the covenant lineage and cross-referenced across Scripture. Explore their family connections in the Connections tab.
