King Hezekiah
Faithful reformer king of Judah who cleansed the temple, restored the nationwide Passover, and spread Sennacherib's threatening letter before the LORD in prayer.
Of Hezekiah Scripture records that 'he trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel, so that there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him' (2 Kings 18:5). When Assyrian Emperor Sennacherib besieged Jerusalem, Hezekiah spread the enemy's letter before the LORD in the temple, and the Angel of the LORD struck down 185,000 Assyrians overnight (2 Kings 19:14–35; Matthew 1:9–10).
