Fulfilling Psalm 2:2 ('The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed'), John sees in Revelation 19:19 'the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army.' Yet there is no back-and-forth clash of swords: in a single verse the beast and false prophet are captured and cast alive into the Lake of Fire, and the rest are slain by the sword that came from the mouth of Him who was sitting on the horse (Revelation 19:19–21).
