Mary of Bethany
Devoted sister of Martha and Lazarus who sat at Jesus' feet, wept before the Bethany tomb where Jesus Himself wept, and anointed the Lord's feet with costly nard, wiping them with her hair.
Identified in John 11:2 as 'the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair,' she fell at Jesus' feet in tears after Lazarus's death, moving Jesus to weep alongside her outside the cave (John 11:32–35). Witnessing her brother emerge alive at Jesus' command and helping unbind his burial wrappings, she later poured a pound of pure nard over Jesus' feet at the Bethany supper six days before Passover (John 11:44; John 12:3).
The Unbound Man — The Cave of Bethany, The Resurrected Man & The Stripping of Grave Clothes
Lazarus steps out of the cave alive yet bound hand and foot in linen grave clothes until Jesus commands the community to unbind him.
