The Archer Who Drew His Bow at Random
The unnamed Syrian bowman at Ramoth-gilead who 'drew his bow at random' without knowing King Ahab was in disguise — yet whose arrow was guided by God's sovereignty into the exact seam between Ahab's scale armor and breastplate.
During the battle of Ramoth-gilead, the Syrian chariot captains had been ordered to fight only against the king of Israel, and Ahab had cleverly disguised himself in ordinary soldier's armor to evade Micaiah's prophecy (1 Kings 22:30–31). Yet 'a certain man drew his bow at random (Hebrew: le-tummo — in his simplicity, without aiming at a specific target) and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate' — fulfilling every word spoken by Elijah and Micaiah (1 Kings 22:34–38).
The Guided Arrow — The Guided Arrow
Micaiah reveals Heaven's throne room; Ahab disguises himself, yet an arrow drawn at random finds the joint in his armor.
