Sarah
Wife of Abraham and matriarch of Israel who conceived the promised son Isaac at age ninety, turning decades of barrenness into covenant laughter.
Journeying with Abraham from Ur to Canaan, Sarai endured decades of barrenness before God renamed her Sarah ('Princess') and promised that kings of peoples would come from her (Genesis 17:15–16). At ninety years old, she bore Isaac in fulfillment of God's word, declaring, 'God has made laughter for me' (Genesis 21:1–7; Hebrews 11:11).
