General Sisera
The ruthless Canaanite commander who oppressed Israel harshly for twenty years with 900 iron chariots — until God's cloudburst bogged his wheels in the Kishon River and Jael's tent peg ended his tyranny.
Based at Harosheth-hagoyim as supreme commander of Canaanite King Jabin's forces, Sisera terrorized Israel for twenty years with 900 chariots of iron (Judges 4:2–3). Lured into the Kishon valley at the base of Mount Tabor, his invincible iron chariots were suddenly bogged in deep mud when the LORD sent a torrential cloudburst and flooded the torrent Kishon (Judges 4:13–15; Judges 5:20–21). Abandoning his chariot and fleeing on foot to the tent of Jael, he drank warm milk, fell asleep under a rug, and was slain by a tent peg in the hand of a woman — just as Deborah had prophesied (Judges 4:15–22).
