The Levite Praise Vanguard
The Levitical singers clothed in holy attire whom King Jehoshaphat placed in front of the armed troops at Tekoa — whose song ('Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever') triggered God's ambush against the invading horde.
Defying every rule of conventional military tactics in the wilderness of Tekoa, King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to the LORD in holy attire to march out BEFORE the armed army, singing, 'Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love (Hesed) endures forever' (2 Chronicles 20:20–21). 'And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed' — turning the Valley of Battle into the Valley of Beracah ('Blessing,' 2 Chronicles 20:22–26).
The Midnight Ambush — The Midnight Ambush
Facing a vast coalition, Jehoshaphat sends singers ahead of the army, and God sets ambushes until the enemy destroys itself.
