The Moabite & Ammonite Coalition
The massive three-nation horde from Moab, Ammon, and Mount Seir that crossed the Dead Sea to En-gedi to annihilate Judah — and turned their swords on one another until not a single survivor escaped when Judah's choir began to sing.
Forming an overwhelming tripartite alliance to drive Judah out of God's inheritance, the armies of Moab, Ammon, and Mount Seir (Edom) encamped at Hazazon-tamar (En-gedi) by the Dead Sea (2 Chronicles 20:1–2, 10–11). Yet at the exact moment Judah's Levite choir began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes among the invaders: the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to devote them to destruction, and when they had finished with Seir, they helped to destroy one another until only dead bodies and three days of plunder remained on the field (2 Chronicles 20:22–25).
The Midnight Ambush — The Midnight Ambush
Facing a vast coalition, Jehoshaphat sends singers ahead of the army, and God sets ambushes until the enemy destroys itself.
