The Angel of the LORD
The heavenly Messenger of Yahweh who calls from heaven to stay Abraham's knife on Mount Moriah and presides as Advocate over Joshua the High Priest's cleansing in Zechariah 3.
Throughout the Old Testament, the Angel of the LORD (Hebrew: Malak YHWH) speaks with the direct authority of God Himself. On Mount Moriah, at the exact instant Abraham raises the knife over Isaac, the Angel of the LORD calls out from heaven — 'Abraham, Abraham! Do not lay your hand on the boy' — and reveals the ram caught in the thicket (Genesis 22:11–13).
Centuries later in Zechariah's vision, Joshua the High Priest stands before the Angel of the LORD in filthy garments while Satan accuses him. The Angel of the LORD commands the attendants to strip away Joshua's iniquity and clothe him in pure festal robes (Zechariah 3:1–5).
The Raised Knife — Abraham, Isaac & The Two Sons Bound Upon the Wood of Moriah
Abraham and Isaac climb Mount Moriah with the heavy wood upon the son's shoulders until two weapons hang suspended in the air.
The Breastplate of Righteousness — The Filthy Garments
Joshua's filthy robes replaced by pure festal vestments.
