Northwest Semitic: Ba'al — 'Lord / Master / Owner'
1 Kings 18:21
Three times in 1 Kings 18 Scripture repeats 'there was no voice, no one answered' — because every counterfeit idol demands your blood while giving zero answer in your crisis.
📜 Complete Scriptural Narrative

Worshipped across Canaan and Phoenicia as lord of rain, thunder, and fertility, Baal was elevated to state religion in northern Israel by Ahab and Jezebel (1 Kings 16:31–32). Yet God struck Baal at his exact claimed domain — shutting up the rain for three and a half years and challenging Baal on Mount Carmel to send a single spark of lightning. From morning until the offering of the oblation, 450 prophets cried out and cut themselves with swords and lances, 'but there was no voice. No one answered; no one paid attention' — exposing the lifelessness of every idol before the fire of Yahweh fell (1 Kings 18:25–39).
