The Holy Spirit
The third Person of the Trinity — the Breath of God who raised dry bones in Ezekiel's valley, descended as tongues of fire at Pentecost, and seals every believer for redemption.
From hovering over the waters at creation (Genesis 1:2) to rushing upon judges, prophets, and kings, the Holy Spirit (Hebrew: Ruach; Greek: Pneuma) is the living breath and active power of God. In Ezekiel's vision of the valley of dry bones, it is the four winds of the Spirit that breathe resurrection life into a slain army (Ezekiel 37:9–10).
Fifty days after Christ's resurrection, on the Feast of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon the 120 believers in the Upper Room like a mighty rushing wind and divided tongues of fire — writing God's law on human hearts, uniting Jew and Gentile into one body, and continually filling supple vessels with new wine (Acts 2:1–4; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 5:18).
