Michal
Younger daughter of King Saul and first wife of David, who helped David escape Saul's assassins through a window yet later despised him when he danced before the Ark.
Loving young David and given to him in marriage by Saul (1 Samuel 18:20, 27), Michal saved David's life by letting him down through a window at night and placing an image in his bed to delay Saul's messengers (1 Samuel 19:11–17). Years later, however, when King David danced with all his might in a linen ephod before the Ark of the LORD entering Jerusalem, Michal looked out her window and despised him in her heart (2 Samuel 6:16–23).
