📜 Complete Scriptural Narrative

Dispatched by the King of Aram with horses, chariots, and a great army to surround Dothan under cover of darkness and seize Elisha (2 Kings 6:13–14), the Syrian strike force thought they had the prophet trapped. Yet when they advanced toward him, Elisha prayed and the LORD struck them with disorienting blindness (Hebrew: sanwerim). Led single-file by Elisha right into the center of Israel's capital Samaria, their eyes were opened at Elisha's second prayer — where Elisha forbade Israel's king from killing them, ordered a great feast set before them, and sent them back to their master so that Syrian raids ceased (2 Kings 6:18–23).
